Urinary Incontinence

Urinary Incontinence is the inability to control the release of urine from your bladder.  The severity of the urinary incontinence ranges from the occasional leak when you cough or sneeze, to having the urge to urinate that's so sudden and strong you don't get to the toilet in time.  Whether incontinence is frequent or is affecting your quality of life, seeking medical advice is important.  The treatment for urinary incontinence ranges from self directed exercises, medication and even possible surgery.  The physicians at Women's Healthcare Associates can thoroughly evaluate your urinary incontinence and guide you through the steps to a better and DRIER life. Recent techniques involve placement of a surgical tape (Monarc) to elevate the bladder to prevent incontinence with cough or exercise. This can be done as an outpatient and you can return to work  within 3-4 days.
