Dr. Timothy  F. Edwards

Dr. Edwards graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1970, and attended undergraduate school at UNC Chapel Hill. After graduating in 1978 from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Dr. Edwards did his residency at Duke University. Upon completion, he joined Women’s Healthcare Associates in Jacksonville, North Carolina as a General OBGYN. Dr. Edwards is board certified with the American Board of OBGYN. His career accomplishments and awards include: 1985 Onslow Memorial Chief of Staff, 1994 President of Wake Forest University School of Medicine Medical Alumni Association. He resides in Jacksonville with his wife Susan and family. 

Dr. Damain A. Smith

Dr. Smith attended The Ohio State University and graduated in 1988 with a BS in Biological Science as Cum Laude. He stayed at Ohio State and graduated from their School of Medicine in 1992. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynocology residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in 1996 and went on to MacDill Air Force Base to begin practicing. Dr Smith was Board Certified in 1998, and in 1999 joined Smith Clinic in Marion, Ohio. In 2000, he became a Fellow of ACOG, and in 2007 joined Women's Healthcare Associates. He and his wife Dr Carol Maruna Smith, an Optometrist working at Family Eye Care, reside in Jacksonville.

Dr. Jennifer A. Neilsen

Dr. Neilsen graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1993. She completed her Family Practice residency at David Grant Medical Center in California. Dr Neilsen was an active duty Air Force Family Pracitioner at Dyess AFB, Texas. She completed her second residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at ECU School of Medicine in 2006. Upon completion, she began practicing OB/GYN in Williamston, North Carolina. Dr Neilsen is Board Certified with the American Board of OBGYN. She is a fellow of ACOG and is certified in robotic surgery on the Davinci Robot. She shows a special interest in minimally invasive surgery. Dr Neilsen is Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Onslow Memorial Hospital. She and her hamily reside in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Dr. Donna R. Anderson

Dr. Anderson graduated medical school in 2008 from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. She did her residency at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport in Obstetrics and Gynecology and graduated in 2012. Donna grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Jacksonville High School. She shows special interest in minimally invasive surgery and Gyn related problems. She is excited about moving back to the Jacksonville area and joining Women's Healthcare Associates. She resides in Jacksonville.

Dr. Christopher Scott Hays

Dr. Hays came to Women's Healthcare Associates having done OB GYN for the past 8 years in Henderson, NC and South Boston, Va.  He has special interests in High Risk obstetrics.  During his free time he enjoys doing Revolutionary War and WWI Battle Reenactments.

Dr. Kellye A. Hoffman

Dr. Hoffman completed her training in OB GYN at Portsmouth Naval Hospital after graduation from University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, Tennessee. She practiced in Japan for 4 years and most recently in Chesapeake, VA, before joining Women's Healthcare Associates. Her husband is a Navy Commander at NRMC. Dr. Hoffman's interests include gardening, scrapbooking, cooking, and hiking. Her special interest is HR obstetrics.

Peggy L. Jones, CNM, RN, MSN

Peggy is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Masters of Science in Nursing. She has been a Certified Nurse Midwife for the past 10 years in Jacksonville. Prior to this she was a Psychiatric Nurse, a Public Health Nurse, and a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Her career accomplishments include Vice Chair RN Unit Riverside County, California;  President Elect Southern California Public Health Nurse Association; inducted into Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society; and was recognized as one of  The Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina in 2000. In addition to her midwifery position with Women’s Healthcare Associates, she is a Clinical Instructor for University of North Carolina at Wilmington and teaches Lamaze classes for the Onlsow County Health Department. She and her family reside in Duplin County.

Ailsa C. Emmel, CNM

Ailsa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida and a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami. Prior to working with Women's Healthcare Associates, Ailsa was a Labor and Delivery Nurse and served in the United States Navy as a nurse from 1999 until 2003. Her recognitions include: BLS, ACLS, and NRP instructor. She currently resides in Stafford, Virginia.     

Kelly D. Duncan, CNM

Kelly Duncan graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in the Science of Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University in 2007. She completed her Master's Degree in Science of Nursing at Frontier Nursing University in 2010. Prior to her Midwifery career, Kelly worked as a Registered Nurse in ICU, ER and Labor and Delivery. She is passionate about providing individualized holistic care and support to women throughout the lifespan. She enjoys traveling, crafts and cooking in her spare time. She currently resides in Holly Ridge NC with her family.

Holly A. Drake, CNM

Holly comes to Women's Healthcare Associates with her family from Michigan having practiced midwifery there for 3 years. She specializes in natural childbirth and has special expertise in breastfeeding. She also especially enjoys adolescent gynecology.
